The Nikon Z6 II mirrorless camera is designed for demanding photographers and videographers, featuring significant internal improvements over its predecessor. At its heart is the 24.5-megapixel full-frame sensor, which sits closer to the lens due to the compact Z-mount, contributing to image quality. Thanks to the integration of two EXPEED processors, the camera delivers impressive speed for both image processing and autofocus systems. This results in sharper photos and smoother videos, even during fast action.

The Z6 II excels in video capabilities, supporting UHD/4K recording at up to 30 frames per second, with a future firmware update for 60 frames per second. Full HD video can be recorded at up to 120 frames per second for dramatic slow-motion effects. The camera also offers advanced video functionalities such as N-Log gamma for extended dynamic range and HLG for HDR-ready images. 10-bit output to external recorders is possible via HDMI, and even 12-bit ProRes RAW for a fee. The updated autofocus with eye and face detection works for both humans and animals, in photo and video mode.

Practical ease of use is increased by two memory card slots (one CFexpress/XQD and one UHS-II SD), ensuring fast and flexible storage. The buffer allows for burst shooting at up to 14 frames per second for sequences of 124 RAW or 200 JPG files. With the USB-C port, the battery can be charged while the camera is in use. The camera has a sturdy, weather-sealed magnesium alloy body and features contact points for an optional battery grip with portrait controls. Built-in 5-axis image stabilisation reduces motion blur and ensures stable videos.
